Demian Bichir, Annabeth Gish, Ted Levine Join FX Drama Pilot 'The Bridge'
They join the Diane Kruger adaptation from "Homeland's" Meredith Stiehm and Elwood Reid.
FX is continuing to populate The Bridge.
The adaptation from Homeland's Meredith Stiehm and Hawaii Five-0's Elwood Reid has added Academy Award nominee Demian Bichir, The X-Files alum Annabeth Gish and Monk's Ted Levine, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
STORY: FX Orders Pilot From 'Homeland' EP
Adapted from the Scandinavian series I Bron, The Bridge revolves around a pair of detectives from the U.S. and Mexico who work together to track down a serial killer operating on both sides of the American-Mexican border.
Diane Kruger (Inglourious Basterds) will play El Paso homicide detective Sonya North, a cop who lacks warmth and empathy who's candid and calls things as she sees them -- a trait that's both funny and off-putting.
When a body is dumped on the bridge that spans the El Paso-Ciudad Juarez Border, Sonya is forced to work with Marco Ruiz, a Mexican detective who has everything she doesn't: a spouse, family and the ability to relate to others.
Weeds alum Bichir -- who picked up his Oscar nomination for 2011's A Better Life -- will play Ruiz. He's repped by CAA and Sekka Scher.

Gish, who recently booked a guest turn on ABC's Once Upon a Time, will portray Charlotte Millwright, a wealthy ranch wife who is suddenly widowed when her older husband Karl suffers a heart attack while on the Mexican side of the border. The Mystic Pizza alum is with Innovative and Thruline.
Levine, who most recently appeared on HBO's Luck, will play Lt. Frank Wade, Sonya's lieutenant at the El Paso Police Department who is described as veteran cop with a weathered cowboy swagger. He's with Kass and Ziffren Brittenham.
The Bridge, a co-production between FX Productions and Shine America, is exec produced by Stiehm and Reid alongside Carolyn Bernstein, Lars Blomgren and Jane Featherstone. Gerardo Naranjo will direct the pilot, which will begin production in the fall.
If ordered to pilot Bridge would join a drama lineup at FX that includes American Horror Story, Sons of Anarchy and the upcoming The Americans, among others.
