Detroit Tigers, Texas Rangers Deliver Fox's Best Tuesday in 12 Weeks
The American League Championship Series between the Detroit Tigers and the Texas Rangers is more of a ratings draw than any MLB 2011 postseason game to date.
According to fast-national figures from Nielsen Media, game 3 of the current series attracted 8.4 million viewers, averaging a 5.3 household rating and a 8 share. It gave Fox its best Tuesday night audience in 12 weeks, since the MLB All-Star Game, and marked a 61 percent gain on the 2010 afternoon broadcast of the National League Championship Series' game 3.
Overall, the series is on par with last year's NLCS coverage, with both averaging a 4.3/8.
In markets, Detroit was at the top with a postseason high 29.3/42, with Dallas, in second, also enjoying a postseason high (23.9/37).
Game 4, which was scheduled to begin on FOX at 5:15 p.m. ET, was delayed on account of rain.
