'Dexter': Does the Serial Killer 'Serve a Higher Purpose'? (Video)
New promo teases a religion-themed sixth season.
Is Dexter doing God’s work?
In a promo for the upcoming sixth season of the Showtime serial killer drama, Michael C. Hall’s title character questions whether or not his Dark Passenger is more than a need he has to fill.
“Dexter has been very mindful about what he doesn’t want to pass on to his son and he needs to think about what he does want to pass on,” Hall told The Hollywood Reporter after receiving his fourth best actor in a drama Emmy nomination. “That opens him up to a spiritual life. Inevitably it spills into his relationship with God and his own long-ignored and unacknowledged spiritual appetite.”
Season 6 premieres in the fall and, according to executive producer Sara Colleton, will pick up a year after the Season 5 finale with Dexter having come to terms with who he is on a personal level.
“We’ve got Dexter back and he still wants to play,” she teased.
