Dick Wolf and Magical Elves Sell Live Legal Show to NBC

'You the Jury' marks Wolf's fifth project on the network, joining 'Law & Order: SVU' and the 'Chicago' franchise.

Dick Wolf and NBC are reuniting on a new legal show.

The Law & Order creator and Magical Elves have sold a new live project to the Peacock titled You the Jury, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

You the Jury (working title) is a one-hour live primetime show that allows viewers the chance to decide the verdict in real-life civil cases. Wolf will exec produce with Dan CutforthJane Lipsitz and Tom Thayer.

In recent years, Wolf has made a big push into the unscripted sphere. The project marks the third collaboration between the prolific producer's Wolf Reality and Magical Elves. They produce the TNT docuseries Cold Justice and the upcoming spinoff Cold Justice: Sex Crimes, which premieres in July. Wolf also has Nightwatch on A&E.

On the scripted side, he will have four series on NBC next season: Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and new entry Chicago Med.

Live programming had been a big priority for NBC. In addition to stalwarts like Saturday Night Live and Sunday Night Football, the network has mounted several live musical projects, including The Sound of Music, Peter Pan and this December's live staging of The Wiz. On Tuesday, sophomore comedy Undateable churned out two special live episodes, one for the East Coast and one for the West Coast.

An airdate has not yet been announced for You the Jury.

Wolf Reality and Magical Elves are repped by WME.
