Discovery Channel Explores True Story Behind 'King's Speech'

The documentary includes interviews with former patients of George VI's speech therapist.
Discovery Channel explores the story behind the Oscar-winning film The King’s Speech in a new documentary. The Real King’s Speech, which bows Saturday at 7 p.m., and explores the unorthodox techniques of Georg VI’s speech therapist Lionel Logue.
The documentary will employ archival footage of the King’s actual speeches as well as interviews with Logue’s former patients.
Producers also will include scenes from the movie, which starred Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.
The Real King’s Speech is from 1212 Productions.
Anchor Bay will release The King’s Speech on DVD and Blu-ray April 19.
