Showtime has found one of its leading men for its marriage drama The Affair.

Golden Globe nominee Dominic West has been tapped to star in the drama pilot about marriage and infidelity, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

From In Treatment's Sarah Treem and Hagai Levi, the drama will explore two marriages, the affair that disrupts them and the fallout that ensues. West will play Noah, a good husband, devoted father of four and New York City high school teacher whose settled, comfortable world implodes when he meets a woman he thinks is his soul mate.

Treem (House of Cards) penned the pilot, which will tell its story from both the male and female perspective. Treem and Levi will exec produce alongside director Mark Mylod (Shameless).

West earned a Golden Globe nomination for his role in The Hour and a SAG Award for his work in the feature Chicago. His feature credits also include 300, The Forgotten, 28 Days and Star Wars: Episode I -- The Phantom Menace. On the small screen, he played Detective Jimmy McNulty on HBO's The Wire.

West, who fielded multiple offers on the broadcast side this past pilot season, is repped by WME.
