Donald Trump Clashes with Wolf Blitzer Over Obama Birther Claims (Video)
The NBC reality star insults the CNN host’s ratings, saying they would probably be higher if he reported the truth about the president's place of birth.
Donald Trump has been hitting the news circuit like it’s spring 2011, a time when the real estate mogul was championing the idea that President Barack Obama was not born in the U.S.

Trump spoke about the birther issue with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Tuesday in an interview that eventually devolved into both men saying the other sounded “ridiculous.”
Trump told Blitzer Obama doesn’t like talking about his birth certificate, because “it hits him very close to home.” He then proceeded to hit Blitzer in an area likely close to the CNN host's: his ratings.
“Frankly, if you would report it [the birth certificate issue] accurately, I think you’d probably get better ratings than you’re getting, which are pretty small,” Trump said.
Blitzer then offered the evidence that the president was indeed born in Hawaii, including newspaper accounts announcing his birth and the release of Obama’s long form birth certificate by the state of Hawaii.
But Trump persisted, saying it wasn’t unheard of for non-citizens to place birth announcements in newspapers so their children would get the benefits of being a U.S. citizen.
“Donald, you’re beginning to sound a little ridiculous,” Blitzer said.

Trump rejoined: “No, you are, Wolf.”
Trump, who has been relatively silent in the political realm since his long flirtation with a presidential run last year, threw his support behind presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in February. Last week, he said he is contemplating forming his own super PAC to amplify his political message.
