'Undercovers' Star Carter MacIntyre Joins 'Drop Dead Diva' for Season 4 (Exclusive)

There’s good news and there’s bad news. We’ll start with the good news: There’s a new hunk on Lifetime’s Drop Dead Diva when it returns for its fourth season.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Carter MacIntyre has been cast as a series regular for the fourth season. He’ll play – here comes the bad news – Jane’s (Brooke Elliott) sexy new guardian angel.
MacIntyre’s character is described as happy to be on earth, having a zest for life and he proves to be quite devilish in his pursuits of women, food, and expensive things. He doesn’t mind that he rubs Jane the wrong way, because he’s there do a job – not make friends.
As you’ll remember from the season finale, Jane told Fred (Ben Feldman) that she saw Stacy (April Bowlby) kissing Grayson (Jackson Hurst). He then left to mend his broken heart. And from the sound of this casting, he may still be away doing that when Season 4 returns.
STORY: 'Drop Dead Diva' Gets Fourth Season From Lifetime
MacIntyre is best known as the slick CIA operative, Leo Nash, on the short-lived NBC series Undercovers. Telenovela fans may remember him as Captain JD Bruce on MyNetworkTV’s American Heiress. He has also appeared on CSI: NY, Nip/Tuck, Bones, and ER.
Drop Dead Diva was renewed for a fourth season last September. It returns to Lifetime with 13 new episodes this summer.
Created by Josh Berman, the series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. MacIntyre is repped by UTA and Magnolia Entertainment.
