E! Upfront Slate: More Kardashians, 'Rich Kids,' Lance Bass and 'Gucci' Miniseries
E! has unveiled its robust upfront slate, featuring an original scripted miniseries based on Patricia Gucci's upcoming book, a new Kardashian spinoff as well as the second season of Rich Kids and a New York-set companion series.
Weeks after E! announced it had ordered its first scripted drama to series with The Royals, the cable network home to the Kardashians has put into development Gucci, a miniseries turning the lens on the famous fashion family from sibling studio Universal Cable Productions, writer Sal Stabile (Revenge) and EP Warren Littlefield.
The slate also includes an unscripted docuseries following the lives of spin instructors and Kourtney & Khloe Take the Hamptons, the latest installment in the Kardashian franchise. E!'s first family will also be featured in Dash Dolls, a series exploring the sisters' pop-up stores and those who work there. Meanwhile, E!'s Rich Kids will expand to a second season in Beverly Hills as the network readies a New York-set spinoff of its latest unscripted hit.
Also notable among E! slate are two specials from former MTV president of entertainment Brian Graden, including the Magic Mike-esque Men of the Strip and one following Lance Bass' wedding. The cabler will also expand its live offerings with a weekly live dating series as well as a daily 30-minute TV recap show.
"E! continues to deliver for the pop culture fan through buzzy original programming, unparalleled entertainment news and innovative digital initiatives," said E! Entertainment president Suzanne Kolb. "Across every platform, E! is more topical, trendsetting and up-to-the-minute than any other destination. With our slate of beloved franchises, the arrival of our first scripted series and a strong development slate, we're excited about the year ahead."
