'Eureka' Canceled: Syfy Reverses Its Decision on Season 6 Renewal
After last week's pick up, the network decided not to go forward on another season.

In a move that will definitely have some fans peeved and others just confused, a Syfy spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that it has pulled its recent six-episode Season 6 renewal.
EXCLUSIVE: Syfy President Dave Howe Sets Sites on Video Games
After last Thursday’s network announcement of a sixth season, Syfy issued the following statement on Monday, as first reported by EW.
"After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012."
When the show confirmed its Season 6 order, President of Original Content Mark Stern told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement that “we are hopeful that this will not be the end of the franchise.” There’s no word at this time on why the Season 6 deal fell through.
Season 4, which premiered to two million viewers on July 11, is currently airing with a fifth season currently in production.
Jaime Paglia and Andrew Crosby created the series. Eureka stars Colin Ferguson, Salli Richardson-Whitfield, and Neil Grayston.
