'Californication' Actress to Co-Star in Greg Berlanti's Fox Legal Drama Pilot (Exclusive)
Eva Amurri Martino -- Susan Sarandon's daughter -- will play an attorney in the project about an ethically questionable D.A. who uses unique methods to solve cases he's been banned from handling.
Fox's Greg Bernalti legal drama has added Hank Moody's former love interest to its courtroom.
Californication's Eva Amurri Martino, whose student/stripper Jackie romanced David Duchovny's character on the Showtime comedy, has been cast in Fox's drama pilot Guilty, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Guilty revolves around an ethically questionable defense attorney who uses his unique methods to solve cases he's been banned from handling after he's stripped of his license to practice law after being falsely convicted of fraud. Amurri Martino will play Lily, an attorney who works closely with the as-yet-uncast attorney at the center of the project.
Amurri Martino, the daughter of Susan Sarandon and Italian director Franco Amurri, joins the previously cast Julian Morris in the drama written and executive produced by Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim. McG will direct the pilot, which hails from Warner Bros. Television, Bonanza Productions, Berlanti Productions and Wonderland Sound and Vision.
Amurri Martino, repped by Paradigm and One Talent Management, most recently guest starred on Fox's New Girl.
The casting comes days after the CW cast another famous offspring -- Gregory Peck's grandson Ethan Peck, in its Hunger Games-ish drama pilot The Selection.
