Fall TV 2016: The Full Schedule

Featuring more comedy, Dick Wolf and less Shondaland, plus an overdose of medical hours on Thursdays as the broadcast networks shake up their status quo.
'Making History'

In a 2015-16 broadcast season that featured only five scheduling moves at its start, the five broadcast networks emphasized stability as they touted their lineups of returning shows. Their 2016-17 schedules, however, have movement on nearly every day of the week.

Among the key changes, CBS returned to a two-hour block of comedies on Mondays. ABC also opened up another hour of comedy on Tuesdays and moved The Goldbergs to open Wednesday. The 1980-something family comedy will go head-to-head with NBC's Blindspot, which moves from the prime post-Voice perch on Mondays. Over at Fox, Rosewood will move from opening Wednesdays to launching Thursdays. That same night, NBC's Blacklist shifts back two hours to 10 p.m. to make way for an hour of comedy to open the night, followed by Chicago Med, which moves from Tuesdays. At The CW, meanwhile, DC Comics fare opens four of five nights of the week.

Here's a look at the final fall schedule for 2016-17, with formal premiere dates to be announced in the coming months. (Click here to download a PDF.)
