Father-Son Comedy From 'Cougar Town' Creator Moving Forward at Fox
Bill Lawrence will write, direct and exec produce the single-camera project inspired by his relationship with his dad.

The network has picked up to pilotone of two projects Cougar Town's Bill Lawrence has in the works this development season: Like Father a single-camera comedy inspired by his relationship with his father.
Lawrence will write, direct and executive produce the Warner Bros. Television project, with Doozer topper Jeff Ingold on board to executive produce.

The Cougar Town co-creator also has a workplace comedyset up with How I Met Your Mother EP Greg Malins in development at CBS.
Meanwhile, after being left off of ABC's midseason lineup in favor of the now-canceled cross-dressing comedy Work It, Lawrence's Cougar Town will return Feb. 14. He's repped by ICM.
