Fifty Shades of 'Inbetweeners': MTV Cast Gives a Dramatic Reading of the Erotic Novel (Video)
The actors behind the high school-based remake let their hormones do the talking during a recent visit to the THR cover lounge.
What better way to celebrate a series about horny teenage boys than to take a page out of the most talked-about erotic literature of the decade? Literally.
The cast of MTV’s The Inbetweeners stopped by The Hollywood Reporter’s cover lounge for a dramatic reading of E.L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey for a segment we like to call Fifty Shades of Inbetweeners. And as THR’s chief TV critic Tim Goodman wrote in his review of the series: “Boner and boobie talk abounds.”
Watch above as Mark L. Young, Joey Pollari, Zack Pearlman and Bubba Lewis take turns reading dramatic passages from the novel, while attempting (unsuccessfully) to stifle their giggles.
“How often does she say, ‘inner goddess’?” ponders Pollari.
“Guys, I am half chub right now,” says Pearlman to raucous laughter from his co-stars.
The foursome play sex-obsessed high school friends in the MTV remake of the beloved British series, debuting Monday, Aug. 20, following the season premiere of Rob Dyrdek’s Ridiculousness.
While Goodman’s review notes that the remake has “big shoes to fill,” he also writes, “If viewers haven’t seen the original, then this Inbetweeners could certainly work.”
