First Look: 'Will & Grace's' Eric McCormack Gets To Work on TNT's 'Perception' (Photo)
The cable channel announces production has begun on its new original series.
TNT has begun production on its new original series, Perception, starring Will & Grace star, Eric McCormack.
On the procedural drama, McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuroscientist and professor who helps the federal government solve difficult cases. The character is described as having an “intimate knowledge of human behavior and masterful understanding of the mind,” but his social awkwardness and eccentric behavior can interfere with his work.
McCormack’s co-stars include Rachel Leigh Cook (She’s All That), Arjay Smith (The Day After Tomorrow) and Kelly Rowan (The O.C.)
Produced by ABC Studios, the series was created by executive producer Kenneth Biller (Smallville) and co-executive producer Mike Sussman (Star Trek: Enterprise). McCormack also serves as a producer.
Since Will & Grace ended its 8-season run in 2006, McCormack starred in TNT's 2009 drama series, Trust Me, which was canceled after its first season. He also played the recurring role of therapist, Dr. Max Kershaw, on CBS' The New Adventure's of Old Christine in six episodes airing from 2009-2010.
Coincidentally, McCormack’s Will & Grace co-star, Sean Hayes, is reportedly in talks for his own return to series television. NBC is developing a sitcom in which he’d play a gay dad raising a 12-year-old with his partner.
