Food Network Renews, Expands Trisha Yearwood Cooking Series (Exclusive)
The Grammy winner and cookbook author's "Trisha's Southern Kitchen" will grow from six episodes to 13 and return in the fall.
Food Network has expanded its recipe for Trisha's Southern Kitchen.
The cabler has renewed Grammy winner and cookbook author Trisha Yearwood's daytime series for a second season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The series, which launched in April with six episodes, will expand in its sophomore run to 13 installments and begin production this summer for a fall premiere.
"Our viewers loved seeing a different side of Trisha,” Food Network GM and senior vp Bob Tuschman said. "Her impressive cooking skills and family recipes, coupled with her natural Southern charm, really resonated with our audience."
Each episode of the series featured the three-time Grammy winner sharing food traditions and updating classic dishes, with each themed episode taking place inside Yearwood's kitchen. The series will continue to be produced by Ellen Rakieten Entertainment and RelativityREAL.
STORY: Trisha Yearwood Launching Food Network Series (Exclusive)
Yearwood, who is married to Garth Brooks, has released two cookbooks, Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen (2008) and Home Cooking With Trisha Yearwood (2010). Both topped the New York Times best-seller list in the advice, how-to and miscellaneous category.
"It was such a great experience, and the positive response from viewers was overwhelming and truly gratifying," she said. "I've always believed that food brings people together. I can't wait to share more family memories and recipes with Food Network fans."
Yearwood's acting credits include JAG and appearing as herself on Crossing Jordan. She is repped by WME.
