Jerry Bruckheimer is heading to Fox.

The network has ordered a series prototype and additional scripts for the Bruckheimer-produced family drama Home, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Home is described as a family thriller/soap that delves into the secrets lingering behind the facade of a suburban family.

Heroes alum Aron Eli Coleite will pen the script and executive produce alongside Bruckheimer and his television banner president Jonathan Littman. Jerry Bruckheimer TV exec vp KristieAnne Reed will co-executive produce the Warner Bros. Television drama.

Fox will film the prototype in the summer, with additional scripts and materials to be prepared in advance to allow the network to pick up Home to series. The network has used a similar approach to development in the past few months, as Fox looks to transition to year-round programming and break free of the traditional constraints of pilot season, which entertainment president Kevin Reilly declared dead in January.

Thus far this pilot season, the network has already picked up Lee Daniels' hip-hop drama, Empire, as a pilot order with an eye toward series; Batman prequel Gotham, a pilot with a series commitment attached; Ben Affleck-produced mafia drama The Middle Man as a pilot with backup scripts; Red Band Society as a series prototype with backup scripts; and Turkish remake Runner as an off-cycle project with an eye toward series production in the summer, among others.

The Home order brings Fox's nontraditional (and pilot) orders to 16 -- eight dramas and eight comedies -- on par with last year.

For his part, Home is Bruckheimer's second drama in contention this season. He also is reteaming with original CSI exec producers Anthony Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn and Ann Donahue for a technology-focused spinoff set to air as a back-door pilot this season. Bruckheimer is repped by CAA and Bloom Hergott.

Coleite most recently rewrote The CW's Wonder Woman prequel Amazon, which the network passed on in January. He's repped by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.
