Six months after launching The Jackal Group and signing a joint venture partnership with Fox, Gail Berman has earned her first pilot order under the new pact.

Fox on Monday handed out a pilot order to the Berman-produced comedy Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The single-camera comedy celebrates the mistakes and misadventures we all make during the years after college before settling down.

Jay Lacopo will pen the script and exec produce the 20th Century Fox Television and Jackal Group comedy alongside Berman.

Berman, at one point rumored to be in the running for Kevin Reilly's job at the network, ran Fox during the early American Idol days and was behind some of the network's biggest scripted hits including 24, The O.C., Family Guy and Bones.

She signed on to create scripted and unscripted fare via her new banner The Jackal Group for Fox Networks Group in June. The company is also developing Park Row, a period newspaper drama, via its joint venture with Fox Network Groups. That project does not yet have a network attached.

Cooper is Fox's seventh comedy pilot order of the season, shy one from a year ago.
