Fox's Lucifer is making a casting change.

The Librarians actress Lesley-Ann Brandt is replacing the previously cast Lina Esco in the network's DC Comics adaptation, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The drama centers around Lucifer (Rush's Tom Ellis), the Lord of Hell, who, bored and unhappy, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

Brandt will take on the role of Maze, Lucifer's best friend and a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman.

Californication creator Tom Kapinos will pen the script for the Warner Bros. Television entry and executive produce via his Aggressive Mediocrity banner. Jerry Bruckheimer and his Jerry Bruckheimer Television topper Jonathan Littman will executive produce, while the company's KristieAnne Reed is set as a co-executive producer. Len Wiseman will executive produce and direct the pilot after serving in the same capacity on Fox's Sleepy Hollow.

Brandt becomes the latest recasting this pilot season. Cynthia McWilliams took on the female lead in NBC's Love Is a Four Letter Word when star Meta Golding exited after the table read. CBS' Code Black also replaced its lead when producers opted to age-up the role and tapped co-star Marcia Gay Harden to take over for Maggie Grace.
