Frank Darabont Eyeing 'Hung's' Thomas Jane for TNT's 'L.A. Noir' (Exclusive)
The actor would play mobster Bugsy Siegel should the pilot be ordered to series.
Frank Darabont's TNT drama pilot L.A. Noir could be adding a new gangster to its ranks.
Former Hung star Thomas Jane is in talks to join the period drama should TNT order the project to series, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
The former Walking Dead showrunner is looking at Jane to play mobster Bugsy Siegel, who potentially could appear in the pilot in printed materials. Jane was not available to film the pilot, which wrapped production over the weekend.

Based on John Buntin’s book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City, a true story of a decades-long conflict between the LAPD and the city’s criminals, the project was picked up to pilot this year.
Former Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal -- whose lead character Shane was axed in the penultimate episode of the AMC zombie drama's second season -- will star as Joe Teague, the LAPD cop at the heart of the series that centers on the police force's pursuit of mobster Mickey Cohen.

Former Heroes star Milo Ventimiglia will play a former Marine who served with Bernthal’s character during WWII and is now a budding lawyer groomed to be a master "fixer" for the mob. Neil McDonough stars as police chief Parker, and Walking Dead alums Jeffrey DeMunn and Andrew Rothenberg round out the cast as an LAPD mob squad detective Hal Morrison and a member of Hal's team, respectively. Simon Pegg will guest star in the pilot.

For Jane, the role would be his first small-screen gig since HBO canceled Hung after three seasons. Jane is repped by CAA and Media Talent Group.
A decision on L.A. Noir is expected soon.
