Clear eyes, full hearts and hopefully Aimee Teegarden can't lose.
The Friday Night Lights alum has been tapped to star in the CW's Hunger Games-ish drama pilot The Selection, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
As first reported by TV Line, Teegarden will play a poor young woman who is chosen by lottery to participate in a competition to become the next queen of a war-torn nation at a crossroads.
Based on the forthcoming series of books by Kiera Cass, the series is described as an epic romance set 300 years in the future. The Vampire Diaries' Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fain will write and executive produce the drama, which hails from Warner Bros. Television.
Teegarden starred as Julie Taylor for five seasons on NBC/DirecTV's Friday Night Lights. Her credits include the features Prom and a brief appearance in Scream 4. She's repped by Innovative and Felker Toczek Gellman.
