The royal wedding was the talk of the town Friday but several beloved shows still aired originals at night.

Fox’s Fringe (3.5 million total viewers, 1.3 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic) rose slightly, with lead-in Kitchen Nightmares (3.3 million, 1.3) down a few notches from its last original.

NBC’s Friday Night Lights (3 million, 0.6) was down significantly at 8 p.m., with ABC competitor Shark Tank (4.6 million, 1.2) slipping as well.

Smallville (1.9 million, 0.8) went below the 2 million mark in viewers, but was up 14 percent in the adults 18-34 demographic. Supernatural (1.9 million, 0.9), meanwhile, was steady for the CW.

CSI: NY (9.2 million, 1.7) and Blue Bloods (9.8 million, 1.6) returned with new episodes. CBS’ royal wedding special (8.6 million, 1.7) at 8 p.m. tied with CSI: NY for the demo win.
