Friends alum Dana Klein is moving homes.

The writer-producer is leaving Sony Pictures Television and has signed a new overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television.

Under the two-year pact, Klein -- who created and executive produces CBS' midseason Kevin Connolly and James Van Der Beek comedy Friends With Better Lives -- will develop new projects for the studio. The pact continues Klein's relationship with the studio, where she developed Friends With Better Lives.

"We've done two pilots with her in the past two years … and that gave us a real chance to see her in action, and she's just a very impressive writer and showrunner and she has many of the qualities we look for in someone," 20th TV chairman Gary Newman told The Hollywood Reporter. "She has a strong vision, she's extremely collaborative, has a great voice and is super funny. She writes very grounded characters in grounded situations; she takes big and bold swings with big moments in her shows, and we just loved the experience and are thrilled to have her here."

Klein previously worked as a supervising producer on NBC's Kath and Kim and was a consulting producer on Friends, where she worked for three seasons and rose to become a supervising producer.

Her credits also include 20th TV pilot Table for Three. Klein is repped by UTA and Jackoway Tyerman.

At the studio -- home to showrunners including Ryan Murphy and New Girl's Liz Meriwether -- Klein joins recent additions Elaine Ko (Modern Family), Suits' Jon Cowan and Ted writers Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

CBS ordered Friends With Better Lives to series in May. The comedy centers on a group of 30-something friends who each think the other has it better.
