'Fringe' Bounces Back in Friday Ratings
After Fox picked up Fringe for a Season 4 earlier this week, last night's episode bounced back in the ratings.
A week after hitting a series low (1.3) in the adult 18-49 demographic in last week's episode, Fringe went up to a 1.5 rating.
Total viewers also increased a little, from 3.8 million to 3.9 million, according to preliminary numbers. (Like last week, Fringe was going up against CBS' March Madness coverage.)
Still, Fox's decision to renew the series is a gutsy one, and executive producer/showrunner J.H. Wyman said just as much when he spoke to THR on Friday.
Lead-in Kitchen Nightmares (4.1 million, 1.5) was flat at 8 p.m. Fox (1.5) placed third in the demo on the night, behind CBS (2.7) and NBC (1.6).
At 8 p.m., a new episode of Shark Tank (4.8 million, 1.2) on ABC tied its high in the demo from early January.
Over on NBC, Who Do You Think You Are? (6.6 million, 1.3) was up more than 2 million viewers versus last week.
In primetime, CBS averaged 8 million viewers and clearly won the night.
