FX is continuing to bolster its box-office portfolio.

The network group, which introduced younger-skewing FXX in September, has acquired commercial TV premiere rights to Thor: The Dark World, which opened this past weekend atop the domestic with an $86 million haul, along with Gravity, Captain Phillips, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 and Prisoners.

The pact for Thor stems from a rich output deal between FX Networks and Marvel, which will allow the film to be available to the FX suite of channels beginning in 2015. The move comes as FX's network group expands and looks to add event programming and create additional reasons outside of pricey originals and off-net comedies to tune in.

To date, FX Networks has the largest library of acquired films -- across all genres -- and the most commercial television premieres of any TV service. In fact, the 21st Century Fox-owned network group has managed to scoop up eight of the top 10 biggest box office hits this year, including Iron Man 3, Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Into Darkness, along with two-thirds of the top 30 films.
