FX Renews 'Archer' for Season 4, Signs Overall Deal With EPs
The network signs Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their studio, Floyd County Productions, for another two years.
Archer is sticking around on FX.
The network announced Thursday that the animated spy comedy has been picked up for a fourth season, as its current run continues to build in the ratings.
In addition to keeping the series, EVP of original programming Nick Grad and EVP FX Productions and head of series development Eric Schrier said that they've signed the series producers to an overall production deal. As part of the package, Archer EPs Adam Reed and Matt Thompson along with their animation studio Floyd County Productions, will stay on at the network for two years, with an option for an additional two.

“It was an easy decision to order more Archer,” said Grad. “Adam, Matt, and our amazing voice cast are delivering one of the funniest and smartest shows on television. It has deservedly grown beyond its initial cult following to become both a critical and ratings success. It is a true asset to the FX comedy roster.”
The move shows that FX remains committed to animated series. Debuting in 2009 as the net's only cartoon, Archer was just recently joined by Unsupervised. The series, which has yet to be renewed, comes from Floyd County, FXP and the Always Sunny in Philadelphia team's RCG Productions.
"We are insanely excited that FX Productions has committed to a multi-year deal for Archer and Floyd County Productions," said Reed. "They're fantastic to work with, and we hope to keep making good shows for FX for as long as they'll have us."
Their deal will have them on-board for future seasons of Archer, should it be renewed again, in addition to new projects that might develop. It is only the second deal of its kind for FXP.

“I am over the moon excited about the trust and faith FX has placed in Floyd County Productions with this deal," said Thomson. "We have over 100 extremely talented artists that amaze me every day with their talent and work ethic. We hope to build on this, growing into a giant animating monster that will eventually take over the world.”
Reed and Thompson are both repped by UTA and Morris Yorn Barnes Levine Krintzman Rubenstein & Kohner.
The current season of Archer still has four remaining episodes.
