The League has scored again for FX.
Fantasy football comedy The League has been renewed for a fourth season, the male-skewing cable network announced Tuesday, ordering 13 episodes of the comedy from Jackie and Jeff Schaffer.
Currently airing its third season, the comedy is having a banner season, averaging series-high ratings and 1.7 million total viewers, with 1.5 million in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, up 25 percent and 32 percent, respectively, compared with Season 2, which delivered 2.9 million total viewers and 2.5 million in the demo.
“The League continues to be one of our most successful comedy series both creatively and from a ratings standpoint,” FX exec vp original programming Nick Grad said in a statement announcing the renewal. “Jackie and Jeff Schaffer, along with our terrific cast, are doing wonderful work each week to make one of the funniest shows on television and we’re excited to order another season.”
Starring Mark Duplass, Stephen Rannazzisi, Nick Kroll, Paul Scheer, Katie Aselton and Jon Lajoie, the FX Productions comedy has featured an all-star lineup of guest stars, including Seth Rogen, Jeff Goldblum, Sarah Silverman, Ray Liotta, Will Forte and Eliza Dushku this season.
The League airs Thursdays at 10:30 p.m. on FX.
