'Game Change of Thrones' Tumblr From 'Daily Show' Writer Parodies HBO Dramas (Photo)
Daniel Radosh spoofs the McCain-Palin 2008 campaign in an image-based mash up of two of the network's most highly-anticipated projects.
War is coming -- to the McCain kingdom.
Daily Show writer and veteran journalist Daniel Radosh posted to Facebook on Tuesday a link to "Game Change of Thrones," a new photo-driven spoof blog that combines two of HBO's most anticipated spring events. The site mixes the pictures of medieval fantasy series Game of Thrones and original film Game Change's to tell the story of dramatic behind-the-scenes look at Sarah Palin's ride to public prominence during the 2008 election, dropping quotes from both programs on different screengrabs. Julianne Moore, who stars in the film as Palin, makes multiple foreboding appearances.
Aside from his work on the Daily Show, Radosh covered religious conservatives in his book "Rapture Ready! Adventures in the Parallel Universe of Christian Pop Culture."
Game Change has come under fire from Palin's camp; Jason Recher, a former aide for the former Alaska governor, accusing screenwriter Danny Strong of reneging on his promise to allow him to fact check the film's script, which is based on John Heilemann and Mark Halperin's book of the same name. That book, he said, was inaccurate; Strong later said that he never made such a promise. For his part, McCain said that he will not be watching the film.
