HBO's Game of Thrones will introduce Euron Greyjoy in season six.

The fantasy drama based on George R.R. Martin's best-sellers has cast Pilou Asbæk to take on the key role, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

The character is mentioned in Martin's A Fest for Crows and has plans to conquer Westeros alongside Daenerys and her dragons. He's the captain of the Silence, a ship whose crew is comprised of mutes whose tongues have been removed by Euron.

The character is the uncle of Theon (Alfie Allen) and Yara (Gemma Whelan) and brother to Balon (Patrick Malahide).

Asbæk joins a season six cast that also includes Max von Sydow as the Three-Eyed Raven and Ian McShane in a mystery role.

Asbæk's credits include Lucy, Ben-Hur and Borgen. He's repped by UTA and Untitled Entertainment.
