NBC is standing at the gates of pilot season.

The network has made a pilot order for Gates, a single-camera comedy from The King of Queens duo Cathy Yuspa and Josh Goldsmith, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Based on the British comedy of the same name, Gates revolves around the parents and staff who navigate the twice-daily social landmine that exists at the school drop-off gates of an elementary school.

Yuuspa and Goldsmith ('Til Death) will pen the script and executive produce alongside Kaptial Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan (The Neighbors, Terra Nova). Laurence Bowen and Philip Clarke of Feelgood Fiction -- the U.K. shingle behind the original -- will also exec produce the comedy, which hails from 20th Television.
