Giuliana Rancic 'Thrilled' to Return to Work After Breast Cancer Scare
The "E! News" host resumed her duties on Monday, Oct. 24, just days after undergoing a double lumpectomy.
Not even cancer can keep Giuliana Rancic down.
The E! News host returned to her anchor duties just one week after revealing a frightening breast cancer diagnosis. Rancic underwent a double lumpectomy on Tuesday, Oct. 18 – during which she also had lymph nodes removed for biopsy – heading back to work the following Monday. She will appear during the Oct. 24 broadcast of the nightly entertainment news program.
“I’m so thrilled to get back to work and return to my E! family today,” Rancic told E! Online. “I still have a long road ahead, but thanks to everyone’s overwhelming support and prayers, it will be an easier journey.”
Rancic, who also serves as a co-host on Fashion Police, announced her diagnosis on the Today Show Monday, Oct. 17. She will continue her treatment with radiation, and according to husband Bill Rancic, “will come back stronger and better than before.”
Following the shocking revelation, an outpouring of well-wishes flooded the Twitter-verse from colleagues Kelly Osbourne and Ryan Seacrest, to Hollywood pals Denise Richards, Angie Harmon, Justin Bieber and Lea Michele, in addition to droves of fans and viewers.
“The E! viewers have helped me to get through this and stay strong more than they will ever know and I will be eternally grateful to them for their love,” she said.
Rancic’s return to E! will air Monday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
