'Glee' Star Grant Gustin Lands Lead in Indie Film 'Affluenza' (Exclusive)
Glee's Grant Gustin is making the move to the big screen.
The actor best known for playing badboy Sebastian Smythe on the Fox hit has landed one of the lead roles in the New York-set indie Affluenza.
Described as a modern-day take on The Great Gatsby, the film centers on Todd Goodman, a preppy alpha male jock who hails from a wealthy family. A turn of events during the financial crisis of 2008 forces him to face life in the real world. Kevin Asch is directing from a screenplay Antonio Macia.
Affluenza is set to begin production next week in Manhattan and Great Neck, N.Y.
Gustin, who this week signed on to mentor contestants on the Oxygen reality show The Glee Project, recently wrapped a starring role in the original Lifetime telefilm A Mother’s Nightmare.
He is repped by Robert Stein Management and CESD.
