'The Glee Project' Winner Damian McGinty Thanks Fans
"UNBELIEVABLE feeling" he says after Ryan Murphy announces he and Samuel Larsen will appear on seven episodes of the Fox hit.
Oxygen’s The Glee Project winners Samuel Larsen, 19, and Damian McGinty, 18, are pumped about winning guest roles on the Fox hit.
"Thank you all so much...UNBELIEVABLE feeling....i won The Glee Project!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" wrote McGinty on Twitter Monday morning.
A few moments later, he Re-Tweeted an inspirational quote: "If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven't done anything today. -Lou Holtz."
McGinty and Larsen will appear for seven episodes. Fellow finalists Lindsay Pearce and Alex Newell will star in two.
While there's no word yet on what role each of the four will be playing, but Ryan Murphy in recent episodes noted Larsen's Catholic background and his tattoos, which include a few Bible verses.
Murphy also dubbed Newell "the best singer" among the four finalists, and called him the "lovechild of Kurt [Chris Colfer] and Mercedes [Amber Riley]."
Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter in July that the writing staff was scripting the part for the winner -- and that he may not settle on just one.
"Some of [the contestants] are so talented," he said. "We’re in the middle of writing Glee Season 3 and I don’t want to have a lot of guest stars this year, but we’re writing a lot of kids’ stories and I’m thinking, 'You know who would be good for those two lines is [eliminated contestant] McKynleigh, who got kicked off might be good for something like that.' It’s definitely being discussed but we haven’t done anything yet. We’re also writing the part for the winner and it’s quite a great role. They’re all talented and I think they all fit. They’re all part of the Glee family."
