Go On's Todd Holland is venturing into science fiction for his next endeavor.

The Wonderfalls and Twin Peaks alum has sold a drama centered on immortal humans to NBC, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The untitled project is described as an action drama about immortal humans who have existed among us for the past 3,000 years. The drama revolves around Jack, an enforcer/bounty hunter -- and I-M himself.

Holland will write and executive produce -- and likely direct -- the drama via his Universal Television-based Dark Toy Entertainment banner. Chris Brancato (Hannibal, Terra Nova, Boomtown) and Holland's partner at Dark Toy, Karey Nixon Burke (Go On, Free Agents), will also executive produce.

Holland, repped by WME and Jackoway Tyerman, is a three-time Emmy winner for directing, having won twice for Malcolm in the Middle and once for The Larry Sanders Show. NBC canceled Go On in May after one season.

The project comes as sci-fi fare continues to be a priority at the broadcast networks. Fox in November will launch the J.J. Abrams/J.H. Wyman series Almost Human, a cop drama set in the future where humans are paired with human-like androids. ABC, for its part, has Joss Whedon's superhero-themed Marvel's Agents of SHIELD due in the fall, while CBS has Josh Holloway drama Intelligence -- about a man implanted with a microchip providing him access to the electromagnetic spectrum. The CW also has a handful of sci-fi-themed rookies, with The 100, The Tomorrow People and Star-Crossed.
