Golden Globes 2012: Elton John's Husband Blasts Madonna's 'Best Original Song' Win (Video)
David Furnish vented on Facebook, complaining that the pop star's victory "truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit."
Madonna's Golden Globe-winning "Masterpiece" does not have a fan in David Furnish, who took husband Elton John's loss to the pop star personally.
Madonna, who co-wrote and sung the tune for her movie W.E., won "Best Original Song" over competitors including John ("Hello Hello," from Gnomeo & Juliet) and Mary J. Blige ("Living Proof," from The Help).
STORY: The Best (and Worst) Moments of Golden Globes 2012
According to Billboard, Furnish -- who married John in 2005 after 12 years together -- had posted a blistering reaction to the singer's victory for "Best Original Song" on his Facebook page. (The anti-Madonna posts appear to have been taken down, but the website Towleroad has a screengrab.)
Offending post No. 1: "Madonna. Best song???? F--k off!!!"
Offending post No. 2: "Thank you for all your comments and support. Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism. And her criticism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."

Billboard pins the origins of the John-Madonna feud some seven years back, when the Material Mom won best live act at a GQ magazine awards show and he responded: "Madonna, best f--king live act? F--k off!"
Earlier on Sunday, John told NBC's Carson Daly on the red carpet that Madonna "hasn't got a f---ing chance."
To which Daly replied: "Those are fighting words."
John shot back: "They're accurate words."
When Daly later informed Madonna of John's slight, she responded: "Oh damn him. Those are fighting words. ... May the best man win."
