'Grease: Live' Taps Boyz II Men for Teen Angel Cameo

The R&B group will perform 'Beauty School Dropout' in the upcoming three-hour event.

Grease: Live has found its Teen Angel. Or should we say Teen Angels?

R&B group Boyz II Men has signed on for the iconic cameo in Fox's upcoming musical event, it was announced Wednesday.

The trio will sing "Beauty School Dropout" opposite Frenchy (singer Carly Rae Jepsen) in the role made famous by Frankie Avalon in the 1978 film.

Boyz II Men joins an impressive group of actors, singers and Broadway talent for the three-hour live telecast, which airs Jan. 31. The cast includes Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Keke Palmer, Carlos PenaVega, Jepsen and Kether Donohue.

The production, which take place in front of a live studio audience, is being executive produced by Marc Platt (Wicked). Thomas Kail will stage direct, while Alex Rudzinski will helm for TV. Broadway writers Robert Cary (Anything but Love) and Jonathan Tolins (Buyer & Cellar) will pen the the live TV adaptation. Glee choreographer Zach Woodlee also is on board. Paramount Television produces.

Boyz II Men, formerly a quartet, is comprised of Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman. Known for such hits as "End of the Road" and "I'll Make Love to You," the singers rank as the best-selling R&B group of all time, with 60 million albums sold. Boyz II Men has also amassed four Grammy awards, nine American Music Awards and three Billboard awards, among other accolades.

Stockman is no stranger to TV, having served as a judge on NBC's The Sing-Off for five seasons.
