Greg Garcia Sells Coming of Age Comedy to ABC (Exclusive)
Greg Garcia is making a case to be one of development season's biggest overachievers.
The Millers creator has sold his fifth comedy this season and second to ABC, teaming with writer Chris Case for coming-of-age entry Mr. Chris, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy, which received a script commitment from the network, centers on trust-funder Chris, who after he gets financially cut off by his fed-up father, temporarily moves in with a construction foreman and his family, where he has to learn the lessons that were never taught to him growing up.

Case (Legit, Malibu Country) will pen the script and exec produce alongside Garcia and his CBS Television Studios-based Amigos de Garcia Productions topper Alix Jaffe.
Mr. Chris marks Garcia's fifth sale this season in the second year of his rich overall pact with CBSTVS. He also has ABC's Eric Falconer semi-autobiographical effort inspired by his experience of moving his family to East Los Angeles. Joining the two ABC half-hours are a pair of untitled comedies at CBS from Bobby Bowman and Chris Harris as well as Sebastian Maniscalco multicamera entry set up NBC.
The comedies come as Garcia, like many other prolific showrunners, is expanding his banner to develop other writers. Garcia is repped by CAA.
For Case, the comedy marks his latest sale after he previously teamed with Kate Walsh for a semi-autobiographical entry based on their relationship. He's repped by CAA, Rain Management and Morris Yorn.
