From Meredith and Derek to Fitz and Olivia: The Couples of Shondaland (Photos)
THR takes a look at the many loves from Shonda Rhimes' long-running dramas, including the recently concluded "Private Practice."
Shonda Rhimes' Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal have delivered some of the most beloved couples on the small screen.
In nine seasons, Grey's Anatomy has gifted fans with Meredith and Derek, who made a Post-It Note marriage official ahead of their daughter's adoption; Cristina and Owen, who have been to hell and back and have found happiness (again) after a divorce; and The Chief, who has had his fair share of turbulent affairs, including with Meredith's mother, Ellis. And who can forget Mark and Lexie, who were reunited in death following the fatal plane crash?

Then there's Private Practice, which started six seasons ago as a spinoff of Grey's Anatomy and followed Addison Montgomery's quest for love after her split from Derek. The drama, which wrapped its run in January, added Charlotte and Cooper to the list of some of TV's most dynamic couples as the duo weathered obstacles including rape and differing views on children.
Sophomore drama Scandal, meanwhile, continues to explore the impossible relationship between President Fitzgerald Grant and Olivia Pope, D.C.'s top fixer, who happens to be the president's mistress.
Rhimes is also responsible for two of primetime television's same-sex couples: On Scandal, there is chief of staff Cyrus and his enterprising reporter husband, James, who stands poised to blow the lid off an election for which his significant other is partially responsible. On Grey's Anatomy, Callie and Arizona have had one of only a handful of lesbian weddings to be depicted on television.
Here, The Hollywood Reporter takes a look at 25 of the most dynamic couples to come from Rhimes' Shondaland production company, which is behind Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal. Click here to view the gallery and hit the comments with your thoughts.
