'H8R' Executive Producer Mike Fleiss: 'We Want Sarah Palin'
The upcoming celebrity reality series, hosted by Mario Lopez, has a dream list that includes Joan Rivers, Mel Gibson and Lady Gaga.
The CW’s new reality series H8R, which pairs celebrities with the everyday people who hate them, has a wish list that includes Sarah Palin, Lady Gaga, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarzeneger and Anthony Weiner, to name a few.
The series, hosted by Extra’s Mario Lopez and premiering Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m., is part hidden camera series with the “haters” filmed venting about their hatred for celebrities like Jersey Shore’s Snooki.
The footage is then shown to their celebrity target as the pair wind up spending a few hours together before ultimately being asked at the end of the day whether or not their feelings have changed.
Producers, which include Lisa Gregorisch-Dempsey and Mike Fleiss, have booked more than 20 celebrities so far, including Kim Kardashian, Kat Von D, Eva Longoria and former San Francisco Giants slugger Barry Bonds and have offers out to more.

“We want Sarah Palin, that’s who we want,” said Fleiss, who also exec produces The Bachelorette and The Bachelor. Added Gregorisch-Dempsey: “And Joan Rivers.”
Celebrity feuds will also be explored and while the clip shown to reporters Thursday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour stop featured both haters being transitioned into fans, some episodes won’t have the same outcome.
Host Lopez, meanwhile, said he’s open to having a former Saved By the Bell star on the series but that he has no need to go head-to-head with him. “I have no problem with Screetch (Dustin Diamond),” he said. “But he does have his fair share of haters.”
