HBO's 'The Newsroom': Second Trailer Previews Cable News 2.0
The Aaron Sorkin drama starring Jeff Daniels as a taxed anchor of a cable news show premieres June 24.
Jeff Daniels' The Newsroom news anchor is switching teams.
In the second trailer for HBO's upcoming Aaron Sorkin cable news drama, Daniels' Will makes the bold statement to change his approach in front of the camera.
The hourlong drama stars Daniels as Will, the Keith Olbermann of news anchors, and follows him as he becomes unraveled and does what ever he can to hold on to his audience.

"The reason we failed isn't a mystery: We took a dive for the ratings," he tells viewers in the new promo, which premiered Sunday night ahead of Game of Thrones.
"I’m quitting the circus, switching teams -- I'm going with the guys who are getting creamed," he says. Meet Newsnight 2.0, the fictional cable news series at the center of the drama in which Will and his fellow staffers including Sam Waterston, Emily Mortimer, Alison Pill, Olivia Munn and Dev Patel clash withJane Fonda, who recurs as the CEO of the cable news network's parent company.
Sorkin, who won an Academy Award for penning the screenplay forThe Social Network, will executive produce and write after spending time with high-profile cable news personalities like Olbermann and Chris Matthews to understand the world he planned to re-create.
STORY: HBO Gives Series Order to Aaron Sorkin Project
Scott Rudin (The Social Network) and Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, The Big C) serve as executive producers, with Greg Mottola directing the pilot.
Newsroom becomes the latest in Sorkin's behind-the-scenes TV takes, following his exploration of a sports talk show in SportsNight and focus on sketch comedy in Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
