HBO is filling out its Sharp Objects cast.

Eliza Scanlen has been cast in the Amy Adams drama. The newcomer will play Amma, the 13-year-old half-sister of Camille (Adams). Having grown up in the small town of Wind Gap, Missouri, she lives a double life as a restrained and girlish daughter when at home with her parents, and as a brash, impetuous teenager when out with friends. The announcement comes on the heels of the news of Patricia Clarkson's casting in the series.

Based on a 2006 novel by Gillian Flynn, the straight-to-series eight-episode drama from Blumhouse and Entertainment One Television is being written by Flynn and Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce's Marti Noxon and will be directed by Big Little Lies' Jean-Marc Vallee. Noxon will serve as showrunner and will executive produce alongside Vallee, Adams, Jason Blum, Charles Layton, Jessica Rhoades and Nathan Ross.

Sharp Objects centers on reporter Camille Preaker — fresh from a brief stay at a psychiatric hospital — who must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Trying to put together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

Scanlen is repped by Independent Management Company in Australia and Velocity Entertainment Partners in the U.S.
