'Heathers' Writer Would 'Love to Have' Winona Ryder for Bravo Sequel
Jenny Bicks tells THR that she hopes to have some good news soon about the Bravo update.
Could Winona Ryder reprise her role as the bitchy Veronica in Bravo's update of the 1988 cult movie Heathers? Writer Jenny Bicks is game if the actress is.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at Saturday's Television Critics Association's winter press tour -- where she was there to promote the final season of Showtime's The Big C -- Bicks said she'd "love to have" the Heathers actress -- and the rest of the gang on board for the project.

"If Winona Ryder wanted to come in and play something, we'd love to have her," Bicks said. "It's a fun way of casting new women that are around her but also her kids."
The updated Heathers, which is in development, picks up 20 years after the end of the Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty starrer, with Veronica (played byRyder in the big-screen version) returning home to Sherwood with her teenage daughter, who must contend with the next generation of mean girls -- the Ashleys, who are the daughters of the surviving Heathers featured in the film.
The writer behind Bravo's Heathers reboot said she's still in "serious talks" with the network, which is "excited" about the project. "We'll be talking to them next week and I hope to have some good news soon about a pilot," she told THR.

"Bring them all back! I think there's that sense of the people who know the original would love to see that but then there's also this opportunity for this whole new generation who doesn't know Heathers the way we do to be introduced to it in a new way," she said. "Like what's happening with [the CW's] The Carrie Diaries right now -- people who don't know the old show but can be introduced to a new show."
"It would be fun, why not!" Bicks enthused of adding original cast members should the project move forward.
