Sorry, 'Honey Boo Boo,' the Kardashians Are Still Reality's Reigning Family
Honey Boo Boo, take note. Strong as your freshman run has been, you and the rest of the Thompsons are still a ways off from being the first family of reality TV.
Keeping Up With the Kardashians ended its seventh season Sunday night, complete with a self-administered baby delivery from Kourtney, to the tune of 3.6 million total viewers.

It marks a season high for the series, the godfather of Kardashian spinoffs, and ranks among the top 25 most-watched E! telecasts ever. That list, it should be noted, is Kardashian heavy.
The Kardashians' biggest ratings haul to date remains the fifth season premiere in 2010. That episode pulled in 4.7 million viewers, topping even the two-part Kardashian extravaganza that was Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event. That brought in 4.4 million and 4 million viewers over its two-night run.
Kim Kardashian's ensuing divorce drama pulled in an impressive 3.2 million sets of eyeballs for Kourtney & Kim Take New York, a record for the spinoff.
Among the coveted adults under 50, the Kardashians are also still a powerhouse. Sunday's season ender saw 2.3 million adults 18-49 tuning in, a 34 percent bump over its season average.
On Wednesdays, in an admittedly different TV terrain, the much-buzzed Here Comes Honey Boo Boo continues to top cable offerings with significantly smaller returns in both total viewers and adults 18-49.
The most recent episode of TLC's unscripted glimpse into the lives of Georgia's admittedly low-brow Thompson clan and their hyper pageant-competing daughter was watched by 2.6 million viewers. The series peaked in its fourth episode with 2.9 million viewers. In the key demo, Honey Boo Boo's high has also been Kardashian shy, hitting roughly 1.7 million.
