History's 'Vikings': Gabriel Byrne and Travis Fimmel Go Head to Head (Exclusive Video)
In a scene from the March 3 series premiere, exclusive to THR, things start to intensify between Byrne's chieftain Earl and Fimmel's Ragnar.
Power is up for grabs on the History channel's upcoming one-hour scripted drama Vikings.
From creator Michael Hirst, Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a curious, compelling man always looking to break through barriers and discover new worlds to conquer who is deeply frustrated by the unadventurous policies of local chieftain Earl Haraldson (Gabriel Byrne).
In a scene from the March 3 series premiere, exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, the elder Earl puts Ragner in his place in a heated scene. It's clear from the start that the duo's relationship is strained at best, and Earl lays down the law after Ragner insults him ("and not for the first time") before their confrontation.

"But believe me, it will be the last," Earl declares.
Fed up, Ragner gets up to leave the table before being forced to sit back down.
To say Earl knocks Ragner down a few pegs is an understatement. In a position of power, he also can't help but throw in a few verbal punches and veiled threats. Watch what happens next.
Vikings premieres at 10 p.m. March 3 on History.
