'Hoarders,' 'Intervention' Have Solid Returns on A&E
The two docuseries returned with new seasons Monday night.
Viewers continue to bank on A&E's Hoarders and Intervention.
The cable network launched the new seasons of both series Monday evening, with the two performing well above previous seasons' averages.
Hoarders at 9 p.m. lured 2.4 million total viewers, with 1.1 million among adults 18-49. In the older adults 25-54 demo, the hourlong docuseries drew slightly more: 1.3 million. The premiere ratings is up 60 percent in total viewership from the fourth season.
Following at 10 p.m., Intervention drew 1.8 million viewers, 1.2 million in adults 18-49 and 1.1 million in 25-54. For viewership, that number is a 29 percent improvement from the average of its previous season, the franchise's 11th.
Hoarders launched in August 2009 with a seven-episode first season, before expanding in subsequent years.
Created by Sam Mettler and Rob Sharenow, Intervention debuted in 2005 with seasons running on an atypical schedule, most often during the summer and the fall/winter.
