The actress says CBS finally informed her that it isn't renewing her contract for Season 2.

Several weeks ago, the chatter began that Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete had not been invited back to The Talk for Season 2. Remini officially threw in the towel last week, and now Peete has come around, as well.

“After weeks in limbo, I was finally ‘officially’ given word from CBS today that I have not been picked up for the second season of The Talk,” the actress writes on her personal website. “I realize there have been several reports and ‘leaks’ for sometime to this effect but until today I was not contractually released which prevented me from moving on and finding other work.”

“While I am relieved to have this closure,” she continues. “It doesn't diminish my disappointment one bit about not continuing with a show I worked very hard to launch and love dearly.”

Before informing her that her contract isn’t picked up, CBS has been lining up guest hosts to fill the empty chairs. They include Kim Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, and Saturday Night Live alum, Molly Shannon, who will guest host for the month of September.

Meanwhile, Peete seems to be taking her dismissal in stride, writing, “I've been around long enough to know that while you cannot control certain situations you CAN control how you respond to them.”

“Thank you to CBS for a tremendous opportunity to realize a long held dream of mine to host a daytime talk show. I learned SO much and will cherish and build upon my experience. Best of all I made some friends for life...”

Before The Talk, Peete starred in several TV series, including Love, Inc., Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper, and 21 Jump Street. She also appeared on the third season of Celebrity Apprentice last year, finishing as the runner-up to winner Brett Michaels. She also created the HollyRod Foundation, which provides support for families with autism.

The Talk returns to CBS next Tuesday with hosts Sara GilbertJulie ChenSharon Osbourne, new addition, Sheryl Underwood, and Shannon.
