'House' Without Lisa Edelstein: What the Viewers Are Saying

Fox's medical drama starring Hugh Laurie returned for its eighth season Monday night absent Edelstein's Cuddy.

Viewers got their first look at a Cuddy-less House on Monday night.

Lisa Edelstein, who has been a regular on Fox's medical drama since its inception, chose not to return for the eighth season after refusing to take a pay cut.

Her character, Cuddy, last season embarked on a dysfunctional relationship with Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House.

The premiere features House about to be released from prison after having driven his car through Cuddy's house living room upon learning she was seeing someone else.
