'House' Without Lisa Edelstein: What the Viewers Are Saying
Fox's medical drama starring Hugh Laurie returned for its eighth season Monday night absent Edelstein's Cuddy.
Viewers got their first look at a Cuddy-less House on Monday night.
Lisa Edelstein, who has been a regular on Fox's medical drama since its inception, chose not to return for the eighth season after refusing to take a pay cut.
Her character, Cuddy, last season embarked on a dysfunctional relationship with Hugh Laurie's Dr. Gregory House.
The premiere features House about to be released from prison after having driven his car through Cuddy's house living room upon learning she was seeing someone else.
Viewers hit Twitter after the episode aired to weigh in on House sans Cuddy, with mixed reactions. Among them:
House was better than I thought, though. Still don't have much hope for the season sans Lisa Edelstein
This season premier of House is anticlimactic for me. No more Lisa Cuddy. I don't know about House with no Cuddy.
House is not House without Cuddy and Thirteen [Olivia Wilde]
Good episode of House. Hugh Laurie did another amazing performance. Still miss Cuddy though, but House does seem sorry for what he did.
Sad there will be no Cuddy
I'll never love another couple like I love House&Cuddy, no other couple will touch me as deeply as they still do. That's just how it is.
I know it's old news but, House season 8 without Cuddy?! No thank you. Clearly, it's time for them to end this show.
I just learned that Cuddy is not in season 8 of House. That may have just ruined my week.
Ohh Gregory House .. You amaze me yet again .. supercool episode .. I miss Lisa Cuddy ..
House season 8 premiere was pretty good. Still nervous to see the rest of the season without Cuddy :(
The reason I started watching House was because of the storylines, not the actors. Just because Lisa has left, my loyalty to the show won't.
I haven't watched for two seasons, but good God did I miss Gregory House! Actually glad Lisa Edelstein is gone.
It started off pretty boring, but overall it was good
