Hulu Nabs Streaming Rights to 'The Last Man on Earth'
The Last Man on Earth has found his way to Hulu.
The streamer has inked a deal with Twentieth Century Fox Television for all past episodes of the Fox comedy, which returned for a second season on Sunday, Sept. 27. New episodes of the Will Forte-penned series will continue to stream on Hulu the day after they air on Fox.
Under the pact, all episodes of The Last Man on Earth will stream with limited commercials for people who subscribe to Hulu's $7.99 a month subscription offering and with no commercials for those who subscribe to the $11.99 a month tier.
"Hulu subscribers have been huge fans of The Last Man on Earth since its premiere," said Hulu content chief Craig Erwich. "Now, we want to give them the gift to watch all episodes of this creative, fun series."
The deal expands Hulu's relationship with Twentieth Century Fox Television, which includes the exclusive SVOD rights to Empire, and comes days after the streamer nabbed the rights to Sony Pictures Television's The Goldbergs.
The Last Man on Earth, which stars Forte as an average guy who survives the apocalypse, was a surprise hit on Fox when its two-hour March premiere drew 5.7 million viewers.
