Hulu is ready to explore the world of psychics and organized crime.

The streaming service is close to a deal for a straight-to-series order for drama Shut Eye, from Breaking Bad duo Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Hulu declined comment.

Created by Extant and Taken alum Les Bohem, the 10-episode hour-long drama takes a darkly comedic look at the underground world of Los Angeles storefront psychics and the organized crime syndicate that runs them. The series revolves around a disgruntled player in the organization who finds his cynical worldview challenged when he starts to experience visions that may or may not be real.

Bohem will serve as showrunner on the drama, which hails from Sony Pictures Television's recently relaunched TriStar Television banner. Gran Via Productions' Johnson and Bernstein will executive produce.

For Johnson and Bernstein, Shut Eye will mark their fourth show on the air, joining SundanceTV's Rectify, AMC's Halt and Catch Fire as well as Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul. They also are attached to Amazon's Galaxy Quest reboot, which is in development.

Shut Eye represents TriStar's first series pickup since the banner was revived earlier this year under Suzanne Patmore-Gibbs.

For Hulu, Shut Eye joins a rapidly growing roster of original scripted fare that includes Jason Katims' cult drama The Path (formerly The Way), Jason Reitman's Casual, the Billy Eichner comedy Difficult People and The Mindy Project, among others.
