Jaime Pressly-Starrer 'Jennifer Falls' Gets Series Order at TV Land
TV Land is getting into the single-camera comedy business, green lighting Jaime Pressly starrer Jennifer Falls to series.
Created by The Wonder Years' Matthew Carlson, Falls revolves around Jennifer (My Name Is Earl's Pressly), a career woman and mother (My Name Is Earl's Jaime Pressly) who must move back in with her own mom (Arrested Development's Jessica Walter) with her daughter in tow after being let go from her high-profile job. Missi Pyle and Joel David Moore co-star.
The comedy, which was previously announced as a multicamera series, will move forward as a single-camera vehicle and premiere in the summer. It marks TV Land's first single-camera series on the air. Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis (Reba, The Exes) will also executive produce alongside TV Land's Larry W. Jones and Keith Cox.
"We are really excited to make this foray into single-camera comedy," TV Land president Jones said. "With Jaime at the helm and such high-caliber talent behind the camera, we have the perfect combination for this multidimensional series."
Pressly is a single-camera comedy veteran, having starred for four seasons on NBC's My Name Is Earl, which also was a single-camera comedy.
At TV Land, Jennifer Falls marks its fifth original scripted comedy on the air. It joins multicamera series The Exes, Hot in Cleveland, Kirstie and The Soul Man.
Jennifer Falls will begin its eight-episode run in the summer.
